O Holy Night
Proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor
of my Grandma.
“Alzheimer’s is a horrible disease that robs people of their spirit. I’ve seen what it did to my Grandma. The picture above is our last Christmas together. She was in a memory care facility. I sang some Christmas songs for her and the other residents. Music is important to people with Alzheimer’s. Even though their memory and personality have changed, they are able to connect with songs that have been with them their whole life. The residents sang along with me. It was a special time sharing the gift of music with them.”
“My Grandma’s favorite Christmas song was O Holy Night. In honor of her I recorded a simple arrangement; just me and my guitar – one take, no enhancements – like the one I sang for her last year. Please download and ask others if they would also. Proceeds from this song will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of my Grandma in hopes that one day there will be a world without Alzheimer’s. Merry Christmas and God’s Blessings.” – Nora Collins

Nora is beyond thrilled and honored to have won Best Acoustic Musician and Best Female Vocalist at the Shepherd Express Best Of Milwaukee Awards. This is her second consecutive win for both awards. Evan Rytlewski from the Shepherd Express wrote, “Brookfield singer-songwriter Nora Collins hit the ground running. Though she’s only a few years removed from high school, the country/folk/pop singer plays shows at a pace even the most seasoned professionals would find exhausting, and in recent years she’s shared stages with artists like Josh Thompson, Josh Turner, Lee DeWyze, Paul Thorn and many, many others. Her latest album, Only The Beginning, is a mostly acoustic affair that captures the intimate feel of her solo shows.”
Nora would like to say “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who took the time to vote for me in the Shepherd Express Best of Milwaukee Awards 2014! With your help, I won Best Acoustic Musician and Female Vocalist for the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW!! Your support means the world to me. Congrats to all the nominees and winners!”
